Law of the Devil

Du Wei was born into one of the Roland Empire’s most prestigious military families, yet from childhood he was frail, withdrawn, and dismissed by everyone as a hopeless fool. Unable to inherit the martial prowess that made his father proud, and seemingly lacking any enviable talent for magic, he was eventually sent away to the distant Rowling Plains. Then an accident stranded Du Wei on a deserted island—and brought him face-to-face with a servant of the Devil. There, a bargain capable of changing his destiny began. Without power granted by birth, Du Wei turns instead to knowledge and insight from another world. He studies magic, invents weapons, develops his territory, and navigates the deadly struggle between the nobility, the throne, and the Temple. As the empire’s thousand years of prosperity draw to an end, and an ancient prophecy begins to unfold once more, the boy once scorned by everyone will find himself standing at the heart of the coming storm. If the laws of this world have no place for him— then he will overturn them all and walk the path of the Devil.
